Audubon Florida Applauds Appointment of Gina McCarthy as Administrator of EPA

Statement from Eric Draper, Audubon Florida Executive Director

Today the U.S. Senate confirmed Gina McCarthy as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Before the confirmation, McCarthy was serving as Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. Former National Audubon Society Chief Operating Officer Bob Perciasepe has been Acting Administrator since February 15, 2013.

“The EPA has long been a strong partner in protecting Florida’s iconic wildlife and special places,” said Eric Draper, Audubon Florida Executive Director. “Audubon Florida is eager to work with Administrator McCarthy on improving water quality in the Greater Everglades and throughout our beautiful state.”
