TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 23, 2017) - Audubon Florida is pleased that Governor Rick Scott will announce his environmental budget recommendations at Audubon nature centers in Naples and Maitland today.

“Governor Scott has visited Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples several times and knows that this special place reflects the best of America’s Everglades, land conservation, and connecting people with the outdoors. We are glad to welcome him back,” said Eric Draper, executive director of Audubon Florida.

“Audubon expects his budget recommendations will put additional focus on land conservation, parks, springs and Everglades and estuary recovery during the upcoming legislative session. These areas are Audubon’s state spending priorities for protecting water and wildlife.”

Gov. Scott will first visit Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Naples at 12 p.m. He will conclude his announcements at 2:30 p.m. in the Maitland-based Audubon Center for Birds of Prey. Interested press should contact Governor Scott’s Press Office at 850-717-9282 or media@eog.myflorida.com.

Eric Draper, Audubon Florida’s executive director, will be available for interviews at the announcement in Naples.
