Florida Legislature to Assert New Focus on the Everglades

This week, members of the Florida Legislature announced the establishment of a new caucus focused specifically on the Everglades. The bi-partisan group will review potential legislation to determine its impact on the Everglades and bring such impacts to the forefront of legislative discussions.

Audubon commends Senator Thad Altman and Representative Steve Perman for agreeing to be the caucus co-chairs and thanks Senator Maria Sachs, Representative Gayle Harrell and Representative Lori Berman for joining the announcement and becoming some of the groups’ founding members. The first meeting will be held during the start of the legislative session in January and Audubon looks forward to working with these decision-makers on emerging issues facing Everglades restoration and conservation.
