The Birdathon will be open for an entire week. Pick any 24-hour period within the week of April 20 - 26. By joining us, you’ll help raise much-needed funds to protect birds and the places they need, while taking part in one of America’s most popular—and growing—pastimes.

There’s no better time for watching (and counting) birds than spring. That’s when migratory species, decked out in brilliant breeding plumage, return to their nesting grounds. It is also the time when our year-round resident species sport their brightest feathers.  So mark your calendar, get out your binoculars, load the Audubon app on your phone, and get ready for the Audubon Florida Birdathon!

Gifts given on behalf of the Birdathon will support the maintenance of our beloved, bird-filled boardwalk at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and a brand-new aviary for the Center for Birds of Prey's owls.

You can participate in three different ways:

1)      Register yourself as a participant and invite your friends, family, and network to support your efforts to see as many as bird species as you can during a 24-hour period between April 20 and April 26. Bird in any location in Florida.
2)      Attend our event at the Center for Birds of Prey on April 20 and 21 as part of your Birdathon efforts and you'll have the chance to win a special prize! Learn more here.
3)      Help us see seven focal bird species in celebration of seven decades of conservation at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary on April 22 to get a chance to win a special prize! Learn more here.

Consider encouraging your friends, family, and co-workers to form a team with you, so you all can enjoy the beauty of nature. But whether you’re a team of ten or one, and whether you’re a casual or committed birder, you’ll be making a difference for birds and people.
