Having a Hoot at Baby Owl Shower 2016

On May 7th, we celebrated our largest baby owl shower.

Thank you to all who came to Audubon’s Baby Owl Shower on May 7, 2016.  This year was a huge success with our largest crowd ever!

Audubon Center for Birds of Prey was able to host over 1,000 guests for a day of activities and a chance to meet a few non-releasable baby owls.  Each spring the Center receives hundreds of baby raptors that need our help.

We host the Owl Shower as an educational opportunity to share our conservation message and ask for in-kind gifts to offset the increased costs of bird care during baby season.

Thank you to all who came and brought gifts from our wish list and donated to Audubon.  We were able to raise over $5,000 in cash plus gift cards and supplies to help us throughout the year.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and outside groups who offered activities for our guests: Orange Audubon SocietyMaitland Public Library,   Art & History Museums, MaitlandOrange County Environmental Protection Division , Orlando Science CenterKissimmee Valley Audubon Society, Patricia Rivera and Eva Carter.  Thank you also to all the organizations who donated to our raffle.  We look forward to seeing all these new faces throughout the year and getting them more involved with Center programs.
