Congratulations to Pedro Ramos on his selection as the new Superintendent of Everglades National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park.

Audubon Florida worked extensively with Pedro on many complex and contentious issues in his former position as Superintendent of Big Cypress National Preserve. We wish him the best of luck in his new role.

Statment from Eric Draper, Audubon Florida Executive Director:

“Pedro’s ability to confront environmental problems and realize positive, lasting outcomes will advance Everglades National Park's mission in an unparalleled way. The next superintendent faces many challenges. These include overseeing large-scale restoration efforts inside the Park, managing diverse stakeholders with varying perspectives, and dealing with the impact of invasive exotic species and sea level rise. Pedro brings the kind of solutions-oriented leadership this role requires.”
