Audubon Urges Renewed Congressional Support for Everglades

In a press release from Wednesday, October 27th, the Audubon Everglades Policy Team applauds the positive news regarding the Everglades released by the US Army Corps of Engineers 5-year restoration progress report and offers cautious optimism towards the next 5 years of the project:

“We are delighted to see the substantial progress of the past 5 years captured in one document, including projects that have broken ground, and the jobs created as CERP moves into the construction phase,” said Julie Hill-Gabriel, Audubon of Florida’s Senior Everglades Policy Associate.  “However, while construction is very important, it is just the beginning of progress; success over the next 5 years will be measured by the actual changes in the ecosystem and wildlife habitat, still yet to be seen.”
