2009 Florida Legislative Session Kicks Off

"The Legislature kicks off its 2009 Regular Session Tuesday. Please find an initial list of  bills to watch.  They are organized into four conservation categories: water, wildlife & habitat, growth management & transportation, and climate & energy. This list is preliminary—bills may be filed through Tuesday at noon—but already some significant challenges and opportunities for conservation are apparent. Appropriations bills will begin to emerge in the next few weeks, when we'll get a better sense of issues such as Florida Forever and Everglades Restoration funding. During session, we hope we can count on you to be a voice for conservation during these difficult economic times. Our alerts will make sure you’re aware of these timely opportunities and issues—please share this Advocate with your friends and family, and encourage them to join our network of advocates, to lend their voice to Florida’s wildlife and wildlands too."
