Florida Senate Committee Approves Clean Car Rules

The Senate Environment Committee voted unanimously Tuesday to approve SB 1994 to ratify the state rule that adopts greenhouse gas emission standards for cars and light trucks.  Audubon lobbyist Eric Draper spoke in favor of the rule noting that many fuel efficient cars are not available in Florida.

The rule is a critical element of Governor Charlie Crist's Florida Climate Action Plan.
