A Message From the American Bird Conservancy

We would like to invite you to an exclusive, advanced launch of an international conservation and birding tourism initiative called Conservation Birding, that gives you the opportunity to help the world's rarest birds by doing what you enjoy best - watching them. We'll be unveiling the program through a live web seminar on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 1:00 pm EST. This same initiative will be announced to the media the next day through a web press conference, so, as a BirdWire subscriber, you will get the early word on this exciting undertaking.

The initiative focuses on a network of 36 Latin American Bird Reserves covering over one quarter of a million acres of spectacular habitat. Many of these reserves feature lodging, trails, and other visitor amenities, as well as opportunities to observe more than 2,000 different species of birds - including some of the world's most endangered species.

A key component of this effort that we will demonstrate in the presentation is an interactive ABC website featuring birding information presented on Google Earth, with suggested routes, photographs of lodges and birds, and videos of rare and interesting species.

Places are limited, so register soon if you are interested in attending. Use this link and provide your name and email address. You will be quickly sent the connection information and the phone number to call for audio. The webinar is free. You will only be charged for a regular long distance call at your carrier's normal rate.  We expect the call to last 30-60 minutes.
