Understatement of the day: "we are very happy".

Thanks in great measure to the lobbying, fund raising and testimonies of Brad Cornell, the Collier County Audubon Society,  Corkscrew Swamp Swamp Sanctuary staff, supporters and especially Director Ed Carlson, the owners of the 2500 acre Pepper Ranch agreed to a new financing idea from one of the Collier County commissioners and voted 3 to 1 in favor of the purchase with a supporting commissioner absent from the meeting. According to Carlson, "This is equivilent to Corkscrew what the US Sugar deal is to the Everglades.  The ranch is a magnificent addition to the Corkscrew Swamp watershed.  We are very happy."
