Later this week, Audubon of Florida will be testifying against the installation of additional pumps in Lake Okeechobee that would dangerously lower water levels. Already, water levels are at their lowest in 4 years and the Everglade Snail Kite is at serious risk of being unable to nest on Lake Okeechobee - any further pumping of lake water will result in a generational loss for this iconic Florida bird.
