Granted, few, if any, screech owls or kestrels are journalists.

Search for the phrase "housing crisis" on Google News and you'll see 3,690 news items. Search for "housing crisis screech owls and American kestrels" and you'll get zip. Nada. Which is why we are pleased to announce that the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, with your help, will once again be solving problems most people didn't know existed when they host their Birdhouse Bonanza, a TogetherGreen volunteer event, on December 6, 2008.  Participants will assemble a nest box designed for screech owls and American kestrels.  All future raptor landlords will also learn about proper nest box placement and maintenance for these tiny tenants. Volunteers will be able to become part of a nation-wide citizen science program called NestWatch in conjunction with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

To register for this program contact Lynne Flannery at 407-644-0190, lflannery@audubon.org. And here's where to find more info on upcoming events at CBOP.
