Supposed Extinct Bird Photographed, and Then Eaten!!!

There's good news and bad news with this story. On the one hand, a Worchester buttonquail, thought to be extinct, was photographed in the Philippines. However, soon after being recorded on film for the first time ever, it was then sold as food at a poultry market. While the incident is unfortunate, there is perhaps hope that more individuals of the species are still surviving on the island of Luzon.  To see the image and read more about the issue, visit National Geographic.
