Corps Continues to Release Water to the Caloosahatchee

Audubon of Florida commends Col. Paul. Grosskruger and the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) for its decision to continue making beneficial releases of freshwater to the Caloosahatchee. Contrary to claims made by opponents of these important releases, the law provides the Corps with the option to make critical environmental releases when specific water conditions are met.  These water conditions are currently met and Audubon believes that it is wrong to cause harm to the Caloosahatchee Estuary before any other water user, including agriculture, is rationed.
