Hit the Beach Saturday to Support Clean Energy Solutions to Oil Drilling

Join Audubon and its partners and invite your friends, family and allies.

You are invited to participate in a day of volunteer action to educate beach-goers and beach businesses on how a clean energy plan can protect Florida's beaches from oil drilling.

A coalition of individuals, representing their respective organizations, will share their commitment to protecting Florida's beaches from state and national proposals to open coastal waters to oil drilling by gathering on key beaches to reach out to beach goers and coastal businesses on Saturday, September 26. The coalition includes Audubon of Florida, National Resources Defense Council, Repower Florida, Sierra Club, 1Sky and the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), Defenders of Wildlife, Florida Wildlife Federation, Surfrider Foundation, the League of Conservation Voters and Environmental Defense Fund.

Volunteer participants will be briefed by event organizers at each beach and provided with materials to reach out to beach goers and businesses. Here is how to get involved:

WHEN:  Saturday, September 26th, two shifts 10:00a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: St Augustine, Broward County, Miami Beach, Cocoa Beach/Melbourne, Daytona Beach, Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach/Pass-a-Grille, Sarasota

Repower America organizers will greet, brief and provide materials to volunteers.
