Last Call: Be Part of Advocacy in Action

Let decision makers know you care about Florida's liquid heart.

This Thursday, February 10, 2011, the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board will vote on whether to accept the Lake Okeechobee Protection Plan Update 2011 (LOPP), and send it to the Florida legislature.

Come out and support Lake Okeechobee’s health, as Audubon of Florida’s Jane Graham and Charles Lee, present Audubon’s Recommendations on the LOPP Update in front of the Governing Board. They will also present the Governing Board a letter with signatures from concerned citizens. So far there are over four hundred signatures, from people like you. If you haven’t already, be part of the movement and sign on! If you are around West Palm Beach on Thursday, stop by the SFWMD headquarters, watch our presentation, and make a public comment. Decisive steps must be taken now to protect Lake Okeechobee’s health.

Sustainable agriculture around the Okeechobee watershed means a sustainable environment for Lake Okeechobee, its estuaries, and the Greater Everglades.

The meeting is this Thursday, February 10, 2011 at District Headquarters - B-1 Auditorium 3301 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406
