Audubon’s members are not only our heart - but also our eyes and ears! Our organization offers many opportunities for people like you to engage with conservation in Florida, either as a community scientist, as a volunteer at one of our popular nature centers, or with a campus chapter!
Community scientists, stewards, and volunteers contribute their knowledge and skills to helping Audubon reach our conservation goals. Giving your time to protecting Florida is more than just going birdwatching, and is not always glamorous; in fact, it often means making observations at times and locations that might not be as appealing as your usual birding activities. However, many people find great satisfaction in knowing their efforts are making a difference for birds in Florida. For example, community scientists allow Audubon staff to collect data on larger geographic and time scales than would otherwise be possible. This leads to policies that help birds and the environment.
